Terms of Service

Last updated: 1 May 2026

Please read these terms carefully before engaging our services. By accepting a quote or instructing Jet Painting and Decorating Ltd. to carry out work, you agree to these Terms of Service. These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales and do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

1. Who we are

This website (jetpainting.co.uk) is operated by Jet Painting and Decorating Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”), a limited company registered in England and Wales.

  • Company number: 16417008
  • Registered office: 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom
  • Email: info@jetpainting.co.uk  ·  admin@jetpainting.co.uk
  • Website: https://jetpainting.co.uk

2. Definitions

  • “Customer”, “you” — the person or entity instructing us to carry out work.
  • “Services” — painting, decorating, drywall and plastering, spray painting, wallpapering, kitchen and bathroom refurbishment, carpentry and bespoke joinery, floor sanding and restoration, staircase renovation, and any related work agreed in writing.
  • “Quote” — the written estimate detailing scope, materials, timescale and price.
  • “Contract” — the agreement formed when you accept a Quote in writing or in fact (e.g. by allowing us to commence work after receiving the Quote).
  • “Site” — the property at which we carry out the Services.

3. Quotes and contract formation

All Quotes are free and based on the information provided by you and our reasonable inspection of the Site. Quotes remain valid for 30 days from the date of issue unless stated otherwise. Quotes are an estimate of the work as described; if conditions on Site differ materially from those represented (e.g. previously hidden damp, asbestos, structural issues), the Quote may be revised in writing before any additional work proceeds.

A Contract is formed when you confirm acceptance of the Quote in writing (including by email) or by allowing us to commence the Services after the Quote has been issued. Verbal confirmation may be accepted at our discretion but written confirmation is preferred to avoid disputes.

4. Pricing, deposits and payment

Prices are stated in GBP (£). VAT is not currently charged unless our annual turnover exceeds the UK VAT registration threshold; if VAT becomes chargeable we will inform you in writing in advance.

  • Deposit: for projects above £1,000 we may request a deposit of up to 25% to cover materials and scheduling. The deposit is non-refundable once materials specific to the project have been ordered, except as required by your statutory cancellation rights (see Section 6).
  • Payment: the balance is due on completion unless a stage-payment schedule is agreed in writing. Payment is accepted by bank transfer or another method confirmed at the time of booking.
  • Late payment: in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998 (where applicable for business customers), we reserve the right to charge statutory interest on overdue invoices.

5. Performance of the Services

In line with the Consumer Rights Act 2015, we will perform the Services with reasonable care and skill, within a reasonable time, and using materials of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. Where you provide materials, you accept that we cannot warrant the suitability or quality of those materials.

Timescales given in the Quote are estimates only. We will use reasonable endeavours to meet the agreed schedule but are not liable for delays caused by factors outside our reasonable control (see Section 13 — Force majeure).

6. Your right to cancel (Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013)

If you are a consumer and the Contract was concluded away from our business premises (for example, in your home), you have the right to cancel within 14 days of acceptance, without giving any reason. To exercise this right you must inform us in writing (email is sufficient) before the 14-day period expires.

If you have asked us to begin Services within the 14-day cancellation period, you may be required to pay for any work properly carried out up to the point at which you communicate the cancellation. If the Services are fully performed within the 14-day period at your request, your right to cancel is lost in respect of the supply of those Services.

7. Variations and additional work

Any change to the agreed scope must be confirmed in writing (email is sufficient) and may result in adjustments to price and timescale. We will not undertake additional work that materially changes the price without your prior written approval.

8. Customer obligations

To allow us to perform the Services efficiently, you agree to:

  • Provide safe and unobstructed access to the Site during agreed working hours.
  • Provide reasonable access to electricity and water at no cost.
  • Remove or arrange the removal of fragile or valuable items from work areas; we will protect floors and remaining furniture but cannot accept liability for items not removed where requested.
  • Disclose any known hazards (asbestos, lead paint, structural issues, electrical faults) before work begins.
  • Be available — or appoint a representative — for inspections and decisions during the works.

9. Materials, ownership and risk

Materials supplied by us remain our property until paid for in full. Risk in installed work passes to you on installation. Surplus materials remain our property unless otherwise agreed in writing.

10. Health, safety and CDM

For larger projects falling under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015, both parties acknowledge their respective duties under those Regulations. We carry out our work in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974 and applicable safety guidance, including for spray painting, working at height, dust and fume control.

11. Insurance and liability

We hold public liability insurance appropriate to the work undertaken. Evidence of cover is available on request.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the Contract — whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty or otherwise — is limited to the price paid for the Services in respect of which the liability arises. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for: (i) death or personal injury caused by our negligence; (ii) fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or (iii) any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

12. Defects, snagging and guarantee

On completion we will walk you through the work and address any reasonable snagging items at no additional cost. Beyond this we provide a workmanship guarantee of 12 months from the date of completion against defects caused by faulty workmanship. The guarantee does not cover: damage caused by accident, misuse, normal wear and tear, third-party alterations, or movement of the building. Manufacturer warranties on materials remain subject to those manufacturers’ own terms.

Your statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 are unaffected.

13. Force majeure

We are not liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by events outside our reasonable control, including without limitation severe weather, flood, fire, civil unrest, pandemic, government restrictions, or interruption of essential utilities. In such cases we will resume the Services as soon as reasonably practicable.

14. Cancellation by us

We may cancel the Contract by written notice if: (i) you fail to make payment when due and the failure is not remedied within 14 days of notice; (ii) you commit a serious or repeated breach of these terms; or (iii) it becomes unsafe or impractical to perform the Services. In such cases we will invoice for work properly carried out up to the date of cancellation.

15. Complaints procedure

If you are not satisfied with any aspect of our Services, please contact us at info@jetpainting.co.uk in the first instance. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 5 working days and to resolve them within 30 days. Complaints that cannot be resolved between us may be referred to an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) provider as required by the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes (Competent Authorities and Information) Regulations 2015. Consumer information about ADR is available at the European Commission Online Dispute Resolution platform (where applicable).

16. Data protection and privacy

We process personal data — typically name, address, email, telephone, and project details — in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. We use this information solely to provide the Services, to communicate with you, and to comply with our legal obligations. We do not sell your data. Project photographs may be used for marketing and our website portfolio with personally identifying details removed; if you do not wish project photographs to be used in this way, please notify us in writing.

You have the right to access, rectify or request deletion of your personal data, subject to applicable law. To exercise these rights, contact info@jetpainting.co.uk.

17. Intellectual property

All photographs, drawings, designs and content on this website are the intellectual property of Jet Painting and Decorating Ltd. or used with permission, and may not be reproduced without our prior written consent. Bespoke designs we produce for your project remain our intellectual property unless otherwise agreed in writing; you receive a non-exclusive licence to use the deliverables at the Site.

18. Subcontractors

We may engage qualified subcontractors for specialist tasks (e.g. structural work, gas, electrical). Where this occurs we remain responsible for the standard of the work delivered.

19. Severability and waiver

If any provision of these terms is held by a court to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force. Failure or delay by us in enforcing any provision is not a waiver of that provision.

20. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms of Service and any dispute arising out of or in connection with them are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute, except that consumers resident in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts.

21. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. The version applicable to your Contract is the version in force on the date your Quote was accepted. The current version will always be available on this page with the “Last updated” date shown above.
